Behind the Scenes: Pouring My First Seasonal Batch | Winter

There’s something magical about that very first pour - the moment months of planning, testing, and dreaming finally come together.
This winter, I poured my very first batch of Seasonal Botanical Wax Melts, and I wanted to take you behind the scenes to share how it all came to life.
🌿 Finding the Perfect Winter Blend
When I began creating this collection, it was back in Summer; I decided to ask my wonderful customers to help me decide on what sort of festive scent I would create by giving them a poll: Fresh & Piney or Citrus & Spiced; and we had a clear winner! I wanted to capture that citrus–spice warmth - the scent of home, cosy evenings, and those slow, quiet moments. After months of testing countless essential oil blends, I kept coming back to three:
Cinnamon Bark - warm and grounding, like freshly baked gingerbread.
Sweet Orange - bright and uplifting, a little burst of sunshine.
Clove - rich and comforting, the scent of calm.
Together, they created the perfect balance - cosy yet refreshing, nostalgic yet new.
🕯️ The Pouring Process
Each melt is hand-poured in small batches using a natural botanical wax blend. On pouring day, my workspace is filled with the soft aroma of spice and citrus - it’s like my own little winter workshop!
I carefully measure and melt the wax, blend in the essential oils at just the right temperature, then pour each melt into its mould by hand. There’s a moment when the liquid wax turns from golden to creamy and begins to set - it’s pure satisfaction every time.
Once cooled and set, the melts are gently popped from their moulds, checked for quality, and left to cure. This resting period lets the scent develop fully so it’s rich and even when you melt it at home.

📦 The Finishing Touches
Packaging is one of my favourite parts. Each set of melts is wrapped simply and thoughtfully - using recyclable materials and natural finishes - because I believe sustainability can be beautiful too. Before they go out into the world, I take a quiet moment to check each one, add a label, (and take one last deep breath of that cosy scent), before popping it into its posting box ready to make its way to you.

💛 More Than Just Wax Melts
Pouring my first batch felt like a milestone - not just for my business, but personally, too. Coming back from maternity leave and creating something with my own hands again has reminded me why I started this journey in the first place: to make little things that help people slow down, breathe, and find calm in their homes.
I can’t wait for you to experience this first collection. Whether you melt them on a chilly evening or give them as a thoughtful gift, I hope they bring a little warmth and peace into your winter days.
